Description

Day -1 > SECTOR  :  ARRIVAL AND DROP OF AT A NAIROBI  HOTEL

Our multilingual and skilled drivers will pick you up from the airport and drop you off at some of the most prestigious hotels in Nairobi. These hotels are near the airport and the city and offer services second to none.

Day -2> SECTOR  :   NAIROBI – SAMBURU NATIONAL RESERVE . 318.1 km . Approx 5h 39 mins

The drivers will pick you up at the hotels and our drive to Samburu land begins. The drive to Samburu is full of awesome sights to see including the Equator, where we may have a stopover for pictures and snacks.

After arrival, we start an afternoon game drive and experience the serene environment at the Samburu National Park. Samburu is a rugged semi-desert area known for the rare Grevy’s zebra, the reticulated giraffe, the oryx, the big five and lots of birds. The evening game drive is an opportunity to watch as the nocturnal animals prepare to come out for the hunt.

Dinner and a peaceful night to the sounds of the wild will follow.

Day -3 > SECTOR  :  FULL DAY IN SAMBURU

Today we explore the picturesque Samburu National Reserve.

Samburu National Reserve may be small compared to Mara or the Tsavo, but it offers an exceptional out of the world experience.

The UasoNyiro River provides a source of water for animals in the park and is flowing with huge crocodiles. The area is mostly savannah with clusters of thorn trees, acacia trees, and some grassland vegetation.

Other animals we may see today include the lion, elephant, buffalo, cheetah, and hippos. Bird lovers will also see some of the more than 350 bird species in the park including the guinea fowl, the Somali ostriches, the marabous, kingfishers, vultures, and many more.

During the evening drive, we may see the leopard as it scans the savannah for the next meal. Later, dinner will be served at the lodge and we retire for the night.

Day -4 > SECTOR  :  SAMBURU SWEET WATERS CONSERVANCY

After an early breakfast, we will head out to Sweet Waters Conservancy. Apart from the beautiful view of the snow-capped Mt. Kenya, the conservancy offers incredible views of the Ol Pejeta Conservancy plains. The conservancy boasts of numerous wildlife and a park dedicated to saving the orphaned chimps.

The chimpanzee sanctuary was started by the Jane Goodwill institute in conjunction with the Ol Pejeta conservancy and the Kenya Wildlife Service. The conservancy is also home to the black rhino, an endangered species due to poaching.

An afternoon game drive will give us an incredible wildlife experience. Animals to look out for include the lion, leopard, elephant, giraffe, Thomson’s gazelle, cheetah, jackals, baboons, white rhinos, black rhinos, buffalo, grevy’s zebra, oryx, eland, waterbuck, and ostriches. There are also numerous birds available for the bird enthusiasts.

Overnight at lodge after a hefty dinner.

Day -5 > SECTOR : SAMBURU NATIONAL RESERVE – NAIROBI. 318 km . Approx 5h 39mins

We will checkout of the lodge and start our journey back to Nairobi. On arrival, we will have complementary lunch and thereafter, you will be taken to the airport or back to your hotel.
